In this sermon we continue our journey to answer the Psalmist’s call to “MAGNIFY the Lord with me”. Unfortunately, far too many who claim the name of Jesus, are overwhelmed by fear stirred in our culture over our national elections. Approaching Election Day, much is being reported about the CRISIS of CONFIDENCE our nation has in the Presidential Candidates appearing on the ballot. In September, the American Psychological Association reported that “52 percent of Americans express that this election is a “very or somewhat significant source of stress”. These reports should prompt us to ask, “Have we placed our primary trust in the wrong authority?” The spiritual and moral issues facing this nation will never be resolved in the Capitol by Congress, or the Supreme Court. As Chuck Colson said “our salvation will never arrive on Air Force One”. What the United States desperately need is the protection, provision, and blessing of the One Living Triune God. Trusting ultimately in anything or anyone else will lead to depression and despair.I pray you will join me today as we set out to MAGNIFY TRUSTING GOD!
