On the night before His arrest Jesus said, “it is best for you that I go away… then I will send the Advocate to you.” How could anything be better than getting to walk beside Jesus? The first disciples couldn’t believe it either. In fact when Jesus would speak with them on this topic, they would actually argue with Him. But, Jesus assured them that the Holy Spirit inside them would be even better than Jesus beside them. What about you? Do you believe that the Holy Spirit inside you is an even greater experience than it would be to have Jesus beside you? Another way to ask that question: Is Christianity more of a set of beliefs to which you adhere and a lifestyle to which you conform, or is it a dynamic relationship in which you walk with the Spirit and move in his power?
