This coming Thursday we will celebrate the annual day of Thanksgiving that is rooted in the history of this great nation. While certain “scholars” dispute the exact historical details of this holiday, few would dispute the fact of God’s blessing or the regular practice of thanking God for the blessings this nation has enjoyed. Sunday in worship we celebrate the God who is the Source of all blessings from the beginning of time. He who created this beautiful world; then created us in His image. We worship the God who committed Himself to save us even at the cost of His own Son, Jesus. We worship the Resurrected and soon Returning King Jesus. During the 75 minutes we spend together this Sunday, may I suggest that you use this time to express your thanks to God in singing, praying, focusing on others, listening to teaching from God’s word, and pure worship from the heart. We will try to provide a context where all of these may take place but the real actor in the service this morning is you, and the true audience is God.
