Here is the truth about human beings, we live either at the mercy of God or the mercy of our circumstances. Many times we’re tempted to think that we’re in control, that we’re self-sufficient. But then something happens, something we can’t control, and in an instant it becomes clear “What a fool I was! I have no control.”

But God is involved in all things, and if we can learn to live in that reality, we can live with freedom and confidence that is liberating. We no longer have to live at the mercy of our circumstances because we serve a God who is above our circumstances.
